Inside Bais Yaakov:

The primary focus at Bais Yaakov is to prepare students to be strong Jews, mothers, and wives. Though secular studies are generally consider secondary to this goal, the school offers a solid, comprehensive education centered around Jewish tradition.

Students are required to wear uniforms which conform to the rules of tznius ("modesty"). Uniforms differ from school to school but typically consist of a long pleated skirt, oxford shirt, and sweater or sweatshirt.

In North American Bais Yaakov schools, as opposed to Israeli ones, the girls frequently receive better secular education which relies more on texts. Each Bais Yaakov school exhibits its own variations in philosophy.
