Founded in 1969, Bishop George Ahr High School is a co-educational college preparatory school of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Metuchen, New Jersey. The School provides an atmosphere in which each individual's God-given abilities are nurtured and developed. Every Student is encouraged to strive for spiritual, academic, social, creative, and athletic excellence through the interaction of a caring community.
Academics are a source of pride at Bishop Ahr, and all students engage in a liberal arts curriculum that also includes religious studies. Qualified students of the incoming Freshman Class are invited each year to participate in a 4 year Inter-Disciplinary Honors Humanity Program. The honors program is comprised of a uniquely formulated series of accelerated courses. The program is designed to be both highly competitive and challenging in an effort to stimulate the student's innate ability.
All 70 faculty members hold a B.S. or B.A. degree; a significant percentage have M.A.'s and some hold a Ph.D.
The school also takes great pride in its successful athletic history. The Bishop George Ahr High School Trojans compete in the Greater Middlesex Conference, comprised of 33 public and private high schools located in the greater Middlesex County area.
